We are required by the government to provide our personal information. The ABS told us our information is safe. The government has a shocking record of transparency. How do we know what we are being told is true. The issue of whether or not information already provided was accessed remains a live one. How does a government with a history of lying alleviate these concerns? The truth is they can't. There lies the problem.
The ABS will report this to another government authority. Both authorities are run by people cherry picked by our political system.
Clearly, they are claiming the site was corrupted by traffic. I have no faith in what they report, nor should Australians. Prior to the census, they had self-reported 14 breaches. Now perhaps the people of Australia will be warier of cooperating with their government.
